About Me... Rosalyn Rikel Ramage
I was fortunate to grow up in a happy family in rural West Kentucky with wonderful parents, three sisters, and a brother. In high school I met and later married (Dr.) Donald R. Ramage, who, before retirement, was a professor and dean at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
A graduate of Reidland High School and Draughon's Business College in Paducah, KY, of Belmont University (B.S. in Education, Summa Cum Laude) and Tennessee State University (M.S. in Special Ed) in Nashville, TN, I enjoyed twenty gratifying years of teaching in elementary and special needs classrooms in the Metro Nashville Public Schools system.
My husband and I have three children—Rae Ellyn (Jack) Kelley, Ron (Ann Wood) Ramage, and Risa (Bill) Robinson. It gives us great pleasure that all of them are engaged in education or other service-related occupations.
The four books in my children's series were written primarily for three purposes: One, to perpetuate the story of what life was like on a farm in rural West Kentucky in 1914; two, to share the fantastical adventures in the life of my characters; and, three, to challenge children to write stories of their own.

Our grandchildren, Willis Kelley, Zach Kelley, and Foster Robinson as well as Joe (Amy Branstead) Kelley, and great-grandsons, Joseph, Judah and Jonas Kelley, have each brought untold joy and meaning into our lives.
We are fortunate to continue traveling to various locations, such as the trip to Lubec, Maine and then across the causeway to Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada. As if enjoying the breathtaking scenery and wonders of nature in that part of the world is not enough, I was privileged to have not one, but two book talks while there, in which The BLUE POOL was introduced. This book was not only written there on the island a number of years ago, but is the setting for the major portion of the book, there in that magical place of Passomaquoddy Bay.
All of this, of course, was approved by the magical, talking seagull named Quoddy, who posed for the photo below.
In our retirement, we are fortunate enough to divide our time between our two homes—our residence in Franklin and our farm in West Kentucky. One aspect of my life that brings me pleasure and gratification is enjoying the contrasting settings in both locations.
Some of my favorite pastimes throughout my life have been writing and sharing my stories. I am presently doing that in various ways.
One way is through the publication of my children's books entitled The TRACKS, The GRAVEYARD, The WINDMILL, and The BLUE POOL. It is my hope that as readers of all ages, especially middle grade children, share these books, they can be encouraged to reach out and tell their own stories as they follow their dreams.
Another avenue in which I am sharing my work is through writing about more adult situations and experiences. My cozy mystery book is entitled MILLICENT'S TOWER,
by Five Star Publishers, which is a branch of Cengage Learning Publication.
